Ocean and Tea
This past weekend’s events brought me to a place, although treacherous due to coastal conditions, that I often turn to, the beach. Water brings us a sense of clarity and calm, which is no wonder humans have always been drawn to the ocean.
Less than a block away from the crashing of waves, vocal excitement of beach goers in the background, lies a Tea house I’ve discovered two months ago. Lightly dimmed, this simple establishment offers loose leaf tea, direct from it’s growers. With 10 grams of sheng and shu pu-erh for home sampling (review to follow), 5 grams of sampling on the spot I am quickly submerged in a meditative state.
Blair and I discussed my recent Tea Sommelier course and what’s left of it. As a learning process, Ive made a commitment to visit once a week, have a few cups of tea, learn what I can and pass it on to you.
