Bamboo Shou Pu-erh / Puer Tea from Yunnan (2014)...long lasting aroma, a lustre of dark red liquor, slight woody sweetness from the bamboo. This puer tea made an impression on all my senses. Steeped with boiling water, 10 second infusions, it rendered a rich woody rice aroma. I was expecting bitterness, yet it never came.
Blair informed me this type of puer tea is rare in the US market, with $50 per bamboo stick at 200g - 250g.
The fresh bamboo (harvested in autumn) is fully intact, with an opening on the top where the tea has been inserted. The bamboo tea is charred over open fire, with the raw puer tea steamed inside. Steamed in its own sweet fragrances and flavors. Love coffee? Come give puer / pu-erh tea a try.
