Did You Know: Health Benefits of Green Tea
Green Tea Benefits
For the past 5 years, in my experience, I have seen the growth of tea shops, from your local mall to small neighborhood tea shops. This is due to the health benefits of green tea, especially matcha green tea.
15 years ago, I wrote a college paper on the benefits of green tea. Casual tea bag drinker, out of out grocery store. To be frank, I have experienced the health benefits of green tea that we all read and hear about. To name a few, the following are benefits of green tea from several studies:
- Fights viruses
- Slows aging
- Prevent skin infections
- Lowers LDL (bad) cholesterol
- Increases HDL (good) cholesterol
- Reduces risk of heart disease
- Reduces risk of several cancers
- Best food source for catechins
They are all due to antioxidant EGCG Epigallacatechin Gallate. Just like plant foods rich in nutrients, green tea is very rich in catechin polyphenols due to its minimal processing.
Above is just a quick reference, but I encourage you to research on your time, and experience the vast flavors and benefits of green tea, in addition to: white tea, oolong tea, black tea and puer / pu-erh tea.
Thanks for dropping by, slurp you tea.
